Earlier tonight, light-armored elements of the Sin Belore launched an assault on the dwarven fortress of Aerie Peak to contain the Alliance forces threatening to advance into the lands of the Forsaken from there. However, the size of the opposition proved significantly larger than expected, and the Sin Belore was forced to call a retreat after only a short period of fighting.
The most curious aspect of this latest battle in the ongoing Alliance campaign in the Hillsbrad Foothills and surrounding area, is that the Forsaken themselves have been largely absent from the battles and otherwise unwilling to communicate with the Sin'dorei forces that have come to assist with the defense of their land.

Sin'dorei Forces Takes Initiative In Defense of Hillsbrad
Late last night a small force of Sin'dorei, composed mainly of troops from the Sin Belore and commanded by Sin Ashals Celistra Nelbrinar and Nessra Sunbinder, made a daring series of strikes against the alliance-held village of Southshore, with the aim of eliminating the possibility of the the alliance forces there mounting an assault during the night on the Forsaken holdings in the region.
The operation was planned in response to intelligence that the Sin Belore had obtained in the field, indicating that alliance forces were gathering there.

Council of Seven Undergoes Restructuring
In efforts to optimize the functions of the Council of Seven, it has been decided to alter the structure of the council to more closely match the tasks which it faces. Two major changes have been made in that regard.
The first change is that the size of the council has been reduced from seven to five councilors. The current three remaining councilors will remain on the council, and will be accepting applications from individuals interested in filling the two other vacant positions.
The second change is that the duties formerly held by specific councilors have now been gathered in one of four offices, with each office being overseen commonly by two councilors.
The offices are:
The Office of Domestic Affairs - Responsible for the health, culture and well-being of the population of Quel'thalas. Currently overseen by councilor Nessra Sunbinder.
The Office of Security - Responsible for organizing and directing the military resources of Quel'thalas, and overseeing domestic security and law enforcement. Currently overseen by councilor Kristeas Sunbinder.
The Office of Knowledge and Magic - Responsible for maintaining and advancing the knowledge and research of Quel'thalas, magical or otherwise. Currently overseen by councilor Saevir Dawnseeker.
The Office of Foreign Affairs - Responsible for diplomacy and outreach to the allies of Quel'thalas. Currently overseen by councilors Kristeas Sunbinder and Saevir Dawnseeker.
Individuals interested in applying for the vacant positions on the council should send a short description of themselves and their qualifications to councilor Dawnseeker. Qualifications in the area of administration and a strong drive to take the initiative are essential.

Scourge Assault Repelled!
The final remnants of the scourge force that sought to force entry into Quel'thalas through Thalassian Pass have now been repelled. The assault started midway through last week during the cover of night, and the response necessitated the deployment of all elven forces currently in Quel'thalas to the pass and the lowland past it to aid in prevent the scourge from breaking through.
Although significant casualties were suffered in the operation, top military commanders report that the region has been secured before any undead could reach and link up with the remaining forces in the scourge outpost of Deathholme.
It was also reported that the group of Gurubashi Trolls resisting an order to confiscate artifacts and relics stolen by them, managed to escape in the confusion of the battle when much of the troops surrounding them were called to the defense, and furthermore managed to leave Quel'thalas with their stolen goods through Thalassian Pass while much of the garrison there had been deployed to hunt down smaller groups of scourge that had gotten through. Possible links between the trolls and the scourge are being investigated.
