Badlands Expedition Succesfully Reaches Kargath!

The Silvermoon Council-funded archaeological expedition to the Badlands arrived in Kargath last night despite heavy interference from dwarven patrols along the route. Thanks to the efforts of troops from the Sin Belore, led by Sin Drassil Kristeas Sunbinder, the caravan of work crews and supplies made it through dwarven territory without substantial losses.

The caravan set out earlier in the evening from the orcish settlement of Hammerfall in the Arathi Highlands, with the intent of following the road south. Heavy resistance was already expected at the chokepoints at the Thandol Span into the Wetlands, and at the tunnels of Dun Algaz leading up to Loch Modan.

Although the first attempt to cross the Thandol Span failed, the caravan managed to break through on the second, but harassment from pursuing elements of the dwarven garrison force it to abandon the road and trek through the wetland swamps toward Dun Algaz.

There the expedition met the second major obstacle on the route, and only slowly managed to fight its way up through the tunnels until it managed to push the dwarves back long enough to slip into Loch Modan. Banking on dwarven resistance being momentarily depleted, the expedition made haste for Kargath from there and arrived without further incident.

Today the expedition will continue to secure the archaeological dig sites in the Badlands and begin retrieval of Titan artifacts to be brought back to Silvermoon for study. The Silvermoon Council expects that the knowledge gained from this endeavor will be valuable in securing the Sin'dorei's position as the foremost researchers within the Horde.

Sin Belore Back In Silvermoon!

The Sin Belore yesterday completed its withdrawal from operations in the Hillsbrad Foothills, after having determined that the majority of Alliance forces there had similarly pulled back from the front. The forsaken forces are expected to be able to handle the defense of the region on their own from this point.

It is not certain for how long the Sin Belore will remain in Silvermoon. Plans for their participation in new operations outside the borders of Quel'thalas are underway even as hostilities in the Eastern Kingdoms have quietened somewhat.

Alliance Repels Assault on Aerie Peak. Forsaken Nowhere to be Found.

Earlier tonight, light-armored elements of the Sin Belore launched an assault on the dwarven fortress of Aerie Peak to contain the Alliance forces threatening to advance into the lands of the Forsaken from there. However, the size of the opposition proved significantly larger than expected, and the Sin Belore was forced to call a retreat after only a short period of fighting.

The most curious aspect of this latest battle in the ongoing Alliance campaign in the Hillsbrad Foothills and surrounding area, is that the Forsaken themselves have been largely absent from the battles and otherwise unwilling to communicate with the Sin'dorei forces that have come to assist with the defense of their land.

The operation was planned in response to intelligence that the Sin Belore had obtained in the field, indicating that alliance forces were gathering there.

In efforts to optimize the functions of the Council of Seven, it has been decided to alter the structure of the council to more closely match the tasks which it faces. Two major changes have been made in that regard.

The first change is that the size of the council has been reduced from seven to five councilors. The current three remaining councilors will remain on the council, and will be accepting applications from individuals interested in filling the two other vacant positions.

The second change is that the duties formerly held by specific councilors have now been gathered in one of four offices, with each office being overseen commonly by two councilors.

The offices are:

The Office of Domestic Affairs - Responsible for the health, culture and well-being of the population of Quel'thalas. Currently overseen by councilor Nessra Sunbinder.

The Office of Security - Responsible for organizing and directing the military resources of Quel'thalas, and overseeing domestic security and law enforcement. Currently overseen by councilor Kristeas Sunbinder.

The Office of Knowledge and Magic - Responsible for maintaining and advancing the knowledge and research of Quel'thalas, magical or otherwise. Currently overseen by councilor Saevir Dawnseeker.

The Office of Foreign Affairs - Responsible for diplomacy and outreach to the allies of Quel'thalas. Currently overseen by councilors Kristeas Sunbinder and Saevir Dawnseeker.

Individuals interested in applying for the vacant positions on the council should send a short description of themselves and their qualifications to councilor Dawnseeker. Qualifications in the area of administration and a strong drive to take the initiative are essential.

Scourge Assault Repelled!

The final remnants of the scourge force that sought to force entry into Quel'thalas through Thalassian Pass have now been repelled. The assault started midway through last week during the cover of night, and the response necessitated the deployment of all elven forces currently in Quel'thalas to the pass and the lowland past it to aid in prevent the scourge from breaking through.

Although significant casualties were suffered in the operation, top military commanders report that the region has been secured before any undead could reach and link up with the remaining forces in the scourge outpost of Deathholme.

It was also reported that the group of Gurubashi Trolls resisting an order to confiscate artifacts and relics stolen by them, managed to escape in the confusion of the battle when much of the troops surrounding them were called to the defense, and furthermore managed to leave Quel'thalas with their stolen goods through Thalassian Pass while much of the garrison there had been deployed to hunt down smaller groups of scourge that had gotten through. Possible links between the trolls and the scourge are being investigated.

Gurubashi Trolls Expelled From Quel'thalas!

Earlier tonight the trolls of the Gurubashi Empire currently operating in the Ghostlands were ordered to be expelled from Quel'thalas, and all items and materials collected by them seized, following a major interracial incident at the gates of Silvermoon.

The chain of events began when a single troll from the gurubashi empire was discovered outside the gates during a joint training exercise between sin'dorei and orc troops. As judgement on the troll was about to be passed and an escort back to the troll encampment arranged, reports came in of more gurubashi trolls being on their way to Silvermoon, including the emperor, Shro'gan.

The city defenses were immediately mobilized, and troops scrambled into position for the arrival of the group of trolls. Initial contact was peaceful, if tense, as the emperor laid claim on his wayward subject and apologized for the transgression, in ignorance of the fact that it just been been further exacerbated by the uninvited and unannounced arrival of himself and his escorts.

The trolls rejected to completely surrender to sin'dorei justice, a council representatives present rejected any suggestion of a compromise on the matter. As a result, the expulsion of the Gurubashi Empire from Quel'thalas and the seizure of all items and materials collected during stay was ordered.

Later in the night, the first sin'dorei forces began to move in on the gurubashi camp at Zul'Aman, but found the trolls there heavily fortified and prepared against an assault with countless wards. The commanders on the scene decided to lay siege to camp in an effort to avoid unnecessary bloodshed.

The siege is currently ongoing. The trolls are thought to able to withstand it for a least a week. No decisions have been made yet regarding how long the siege will be maintained.

Council Representative Meets With Trolls

A representative of the Council of Seven met today with the group of trolls from the Second Gurubashi Empire that is currently present in Quel'thalas, including their Emperor. The purpose of the meeting was to identify their reason for being here and lay out the conditions for their activities during their stay.

The council informs that after being pressed for answers, the trolls revealed that they are moving their Amani brethren south to Stranglethorn Vale, as well as certain materials. This was allowed under the condition that all trolls and goods enter and leave Quel'thalas through the Thalassian Pass for inspection by the garrison located there. It was furthermore made clear that the border patrols have orders to use force against any troll caught trying to enter or leave the nation elsewhere.

The council reassures that extra efforts are being made to keep the activities of the Second Gurubashi Empire under heavy supervision, and encourages all Sin'dorei to report any suspected troll activity to the authorities or the council itself.

Council Advisory Regarding Trolls

There has been reports in the past week of foreign trolls roaming the region of southern Quel'thalas near amani lands, including a gathering of trolls from the Second Gurubashi Empire. The council warns that any troll sighted should still be considered hostile without certain evidence to the contrary, regardless of their claimed affiliation. All Sin'dorei are also advised to travel in well-armed groups in the region and to file their travel plans and intentions with a council representative before going.

Sin'dorei Forces Return Victorious!

Sin'dorei forces deployed to Andorhal in the Western Plaguelands returned to Silvermoon yesterday after routing, in combination with orcish and forsaken forces, a significant Alliance assault on the ruined town.

Reports from the battle say that the Alliance had also enlisted forces of the Argent Dawn against the Horde forces present in the region, giving cause for a serious drop in relations with the purportedly-neutral organization dedicated to fighting the Scourge. Talks of withdrawing support for the Argent Dawn's crusade have already begun.

The Silvermoon Observer Launches!

It is with great pleasure that Silvermoon's recently inaugurated Council of Seven reveals the first project to be developed at its initiative, the Silvermoon Observer. Operated under the department of Culture and Knowledge, the Observer aims to deliver reliable and trustworthy news and information for all Sin'dorei, both in Quel'thalas and those traveling abroad.

News updates will be broadcast across Azeroth along the Ley-lines using the latest in developments by the Arcanists of Sunfury Spire, allowing them to be accessed and conjured into view with a simple cantrip spell from virtually anywhere!

For foreign visitors, or Sin'dorei who regrettably lack aptitude even for cantrips, hand held devices that will tap into and show the news will also be available.
